Frequently asked questions
- How is Vietnamese handled?
- Accents are folded to their base letters and đ becomes d, so Đổi kích thước ảnh becomes doi-kich-thuoc-anh. That is readable in a URL and needs no percent encoding.
- Why did my slug get shorter than the limit I set?
- Slugs are cut at a separator so words stay whole. If the limit falls in the middle of a word, the tool drops back to the previous boundary.
- What happens to emoji and symbols?
- Anything that is not a letter or digit becomes a separator, and repeated separators collapse. Emoji are dropped entirely.
