How to use
- Fill in the page title and description.
- Add a canonical URL and a share image if you have them.
- Watch the character counters and the suggestions panel.
- Copy the tags into the <head> of your page.
Features
- Standard meta, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags in one block.
- Live character counters against the lengths search results truncate at.
- Warnings for a missing absolute image URL and over-long text.
- All values are HTML-escaped, so quotes in a title cannot break the markup.
Frequently asked questions
- Where do these tags go?
- Inside the <head> element of your page, before the closing </head>. If your CMS has separate fields for title and description, use those rather than pasting raw tags.
- Do I still need the keywords tag?
- No major search engine has used it for many years. It is included because some internal search tools still read it, but leaving it empty costs nothing.
- Why must the share image be an absolute URL?
- Facebook, LinkedIn and X fetch the image from their own servers, where a relative path has no meaning. It must start with https:// and be publicly reachable.
- What image size works best?
- 1200 by 630 pixels suits summary_large_image and is handled well everywhere. Keep important content away from the edges, since platforms crop differently.
