- Why does my emoji count as one here but two elsewhere?
- Many tools count UTF-16 code units, where most emoji take two. This tool counts code points, matching what you would call a character and what most platforms display.
- Are the platform limits exact?
- They are the published limits at the time of writing and are a good guide. Some platforms count links as a fixed length regardless of the real URL, so treat the numbers as close rather than authoritative.
- Does it work with Vietnamese?
- Yes. Accented Vietnamese letters are counted as single characters rather than as a base letter plus a tone mark.
