How to use
- Choose whether you know the percentage off, or both prices.
- Enter the two values. A comma or a full stop both work as the decimal separator.
- Select Calculate, or press Enter.
- Read the final price, the amount saved and the effective discount.
Features
- Works in both directions: percentage to price, or price to percentage.
- Shows the amount saved alongside the final price.
- Accepts comma decimals and spaces used as thousand separators.
- Rounds money to two decimals without floating-point drift.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I work out the original price from a sale price?
- Use the second mode. Enter the original and sale price and the tool gives the effective percentage off.
- Can I stack two discounts?
- Run the tool twice: take the result of the first discount and use it as the original price for the second. Stacked discounts do not simply add up, so 20% then 10% is 28% off, not 30%.
- Does it handle tax?
- No. It works on the numbers you enter. Apply the discount first and add tax afterwards if that is how your invoice works.
